Q. |

Hi Dr. Willis,
I was born into a family of doctors-unfortunately they are all gone now. I need to know if you can help me. I have an extremely abscessed tooth that has me in severe, mind-blowing pain and has my jaw, face and neck swollen. I've been through "TMG Urgent Care", "Bond Clinic" and "We Care"-the last two of which are a joke. We Care claims I am too poor for their services, and Bond does not do dental. I can't continue like this. Is there any way I can get an extraction and make payments? I need serious help. |

Q. |

What makes a person's jaws make a popping sound upon opening? I've noticed this sound frequently upon opening while eating and sometimes there is minor discomfort while eating. |

yikes, popping can be from a couple of different reasons. Primarily its due to a small disc in the jaw joint, that is popping on a off the head of the condyle.
Give us a call and we an take a look at it if you would like.
Thanks for the great questions

Q. |

Do you take Blue Cross Blue Sheild Insurance
or Assurant Dental Plan Insurance. Both of these are with the state.
thanks. |

great question, if blue cross blue sheild or assurant dental plans are indemnity type insurance's, and they allow for you to choose your dentist, then we do. We will help you to get the max benefit from your insurance company. HMO type insurance plans are bad for the public, they force dental providers to lower the standard of care for there patient's. IMHO
thanks for the question

Q. |

I used to do pottery but I left my potters wheel at the dentist office.. know how I can get it back.....do you think I should just go by and ask for it.. |

Great question, I had a really really nice patient, who became a good friend, who let me use a potter's wheel many years ago, I do not know if he will ever know how much it helped me through a tough time in my life. any way I bet you could probably call him and maybe go to lunch or dinner with him and he would probably give it back to you.

Q. |

Dr
I rarely smile because I have crowded front teeth and feel I am too old to wear metal braces. As I am a professional, this causes me much embarrassment. Is there an affordable alternative? |
|
b in tally, talahassee 7/26/08

Hi b,
wow I hate it when I hear of people who are embarrassed about their smile, there are so many option's today for improving a smile.
We are always saying that a smile is truly the best accessory you can wear. We would love to show you some option's. I can understand if you do not want to wear metal brace's on your teeth, and so many of our patient's have straightened their teeth with inivisalign as an alternative to the metal brace's.
great question
Thanks
R.

Q. |

I have a permanent bridge that has come off, and also a crown that has come off. Due to not having dental insurance I have not had these replaced, they have been off for about two years. When the crown came off it broke off part of the tooth with it. I know that this will be very expensive to fix, i.e. new crown and new bridge. These are both about 15 years old can you tell me about what it would cost, and if their are any ways to finance these procedures.
I have also heard that most dentists in the Tallahassee area are not taking new patients, are you? Thanks, |
|
JH, Tallahassee, Florida 7/24/08
|
|

Hi JH, Its almost impossible to guesstimate cost with out seeing everything going on in a persons mouth. We do however help patients with financing there dental treatment up to 50,000 dollars.
we are seeing new patients, and we would be happy to see you, you cal call Trina at 850-877-5151 to schedule a consult with either Dr Greenberg or myself.
